Message from your Fundraising Coordinator -- Banner Sales ideas and techniques

Message from your Booster Club Fundraiser:

Parents, please share this information with your player. Most teenagers do not have much experience with sales and this is a great opportunity for them to develop new skills and earn money to pay for their football fees.

Now is the time to get our local businesses in our community supporting the Skyline Football Program!  After another "Winning Season" and "Sell Out Crowds" this is the place to be on Friday Nights!

****Please note on the banner sales when talking to local businesses, we have also included social media marketing (on flyer), we will tag those businesses in our social media posts to help increase their online presence.  Also with some of our athletes receiving D1 offers, it can create working relationships for potential NIL deals for those athlete(s) and place of business.

When shopping at local business', as an example, getting a suit altered for Homecoming at the world famous Italian tailor shop, Leone's Tailor, on Highland Drive ask if they could support Skyline High School Football.  The easy "time" to ask for money is when you are directly spending money at their place of business, especially if you don't have any previous relationships built.

When in a scenario like the one above and you don't have the flyer with you, here are a few steps to make you successful:

1.  Get a business card and the owner's information
2.  FOLLOW UP and either drop a banner flyer off or send it electronically via email
3.  1 week later follow up again, business owners get busy and they like reminders
4.  When you make the sale be sure to always thank them in a written format, either a small handwritten thank you card or email.

Why are the Football Banner Sponsorship/Sales important?

1.  This is the one fundraising opportunity to help reduce your player fees for the year
2.  Anything extra helps the team buy new equipment, newest helmets, pads, or updated technology which makes it safer for the players
3.  This helps our football program with great community relations and businesses supporting our team and will help to continue to drive down the overall cost of team fees.

Go Eagles!
